Safely Boating on Wind Lake

Buoy and sandbar locations on wind lake

traveling safely on wind lake

To keep you from fines, and protect the lake, I've provided information from the Town of Norway in regards to buoy location and boating ordinances. Please take caution while under power near other boats, swimmers, or personal watercrafts. Reduce power near the shorelines as well to avoid tickets. I mention it below too, but no glass is permitted on the water and another big one, "slow / no wake" hours are from 9 am until dusk.

These documents are included on the front/back of the blue binder in the drivers console of the boat!

Below is a link to the Official Document provided by the Town of Norway in regards to the buoy locations. Please abide by the "slow / no wake" buoys as they are vital to protecting the habitat around the lake. (They also make for easy tickets for the local DNR)

Below is the PDF for the local boating ordinaces for Wind Lake. In particular, especially to guests enjoying the lake, no glass bottles are permitted on the lake. Again, this makes for an easy ticket from the DNR, and secondarily, is a hazard to swimmers.
